I understand there are three major use cases, but I am not sure if I understand exactly why I want to use them. 1. Custom fields : When I have a list of items with their own form control, what I often want is to have a checkbox to turn on or off the fields. These checkboxes can easily become a big problem with a large list item (e.g. where a large amount of data will live and not be accessible in an existing list item). Thus, I need a way to make a form control for each field. W3form allows this to be done. You could use an array of fields, if you like this. 2. Text fields : Most people will have some text fields for a phone number, address, date/time, etc. What we want to do is display these text fields in various formats, such as a popup window or some sort of message (not very helpful for email addresses though). I want simple and customizable popup windows which can be turned on/off. W3form is perfect for this. 3. Alert controls : You use alert controls, and you have alerts of various types. Most of the time you use email notifications, which is great, but they can become annoying to use. So this allows me to specify an alert control that is used as the focus of my web page! So W3form offers a wide variety of features and functionality, and I find their features to be very efficient and easy to use. I have found the user interface to be very intuitive. Some other things I like about W3form are that the plugin is built with Ajax — This is great for many reasons — including performance. Many people tend to create websites without ever having worked with AJAX before, in turn making their websites slow due to not having any support built in. If your users have ever used AJAX, or any form-related technology in general, they will know how important it is to have a great user experience. W3form also provides a ton of user-friendly add-ons and custom plugins — A lot of these provide features that are not available in their default release. Many of these include add-ons that were designed with ease of use and developer community development in mind, so I found this to be a great value. Conclusion W3forms is a fairly easy to use plugin, but it is not the greatest plugin on the market.

All WordPress developers, or developers who just want to play with WordPress code. What is W3form ? W3form is an independent tool that integrates WordPress form controls and widgets in a single plugin. If you ever wanted to integrate forms and widgets in your theme or plugin, W3form is for you! W3form is in fact the name of the plugin, which uses the term “form” for the controls, and integrates forms in the WordPress template code. How does it work? Using the plugin, you just need to add W3form as a dependency of your own plugin (which you can even do right now on GitHub), and you will be ready to create forms and widgets. If you want to add a lot of forms, you can add them as part of the configuration of your plugin (check the configuration screen). I see a few limitations ! W3form has only been developed to integrate WordPress form controls, but it's flexible enough to integrate other kinds of controls. That's why it's a good choice even for developers who don't want to develop a lot of code for their WordPress site. W3form is not compatible with WordPress themes that use the default template: it's too easy to overwrite the default code. For example, if your theme uses the default “wpform.php” template, you will never be able to use the customizable version of that page. Using W3form requires that you have written at least one plugin that uses WP_X_FORMS. What is the advantage over using the default template ? The advantage is you can use a few features only available to W3form. For example, you will not be able to use all the different types of fields. That's why it's very hard to integrate more than just forms and widget controls. Is it easy ? It's easy because you can do it without writing much code yourself. I've tried every trick (including the old 'save as text' method). My computer is an HP comp and I got my W3form via the HP website, in a compressed archive, and from a download package at the end. The problem is that I can't get W3form to actually read my textiles. The 'save as text' method seems to work, but I haven't had any luck in the last week on getting it to actually save the files. It would be wonderful if someone could enlighten me, but the info I'd need is either the same as, or just as bad as my info (except that I'm on a 'PC' and not a Mac or Linux).

The book is complete. The art and layout is almost ready (and is looking amazing), and then it's just writing, editing, publishing, and shipping in just a couple of months. It is still a ways off. A few things you should know about the audiobook. Firstly, the audio is still in pre-production. We will be putting together short scripts from three-to-four of the books. They will then be read by Mike and me, with the results discussed. If that is all works out then we will be listening back to the script so if there are any mistakes that we can fix, we will.
